Position Overview:
The TFE Engine Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of Turbomeca/Safran TFE series engines (e.g., TFE731) in accordance with OEM specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role ensures engine reliability, safety, and serviceability to support fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving inspections, documentation review, and visual condition checks.
- Disassemble TFE731 engines and modules in accordance with OEM procedures.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections per engine manual.
- Document findings and coordinate part disposition with QA and Engineering.
- Repair, assemble, and build engine modules (Fan, LPC, HPC, Turbine, Gearbox).
- Install and rig engine accessories, actuators, and fuel controls.
- Complete final engine assembly within required tolerances.
- Support engine testing including troubleshooting and performance adjustments.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, work orders, and traceability documentation.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain shop housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; AMT school preferred.
- A&P Certificate preferred.
- 2–5 years turbofan engine experience (TFE731 preferred).
- Knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair station regulations.
